Rip off the mask, tear down the walls. Show the world your beautiful self!

The Laws of Attraction tell us that the more strongly your emotions are in regard to something, the more likely you will be to attract it.   I saw this today and it resonated so strongly that I had to share it tonight.

There is altogether too much sadness, hate and discontent in our world these days.  Every time you open up a newspaper or log onto Facebook, you read about murder, mayhem or someone fighting or losing their battle with cancer.

Clearly, a great deal of passion is directed at these areas as they are certainly thriving!

At the risk of sounding cold and unfeeling, I choose not to waste my emotions, my passion on things that make people sad or worse, angry.  I’ll offer my condolences to the family who loses a loved one, but I’m not going to get all weepy and emotionally involved in the loss.

As I see it, the person left because they were ready to go.  It might not seem like the right time to those who are left behind, but they finished what they came here to do and now it is time for them to move on.

Meanwhile, there are so many wonderful causes and ideas and blessings which really need the emotional input so they can grow and thrive.  Isn’t that a much better place to direct those energies?  If we were to give the dearly departed the most wonderful send off, wouldn’t it be to thrive?

I read a beautiful statement today after the passing of a mother, wife, friend, sister…many things to many people.  They said that about an hour after she passed, the family hiked into the hills behind her home and set her spirit free.

That is exactly what I’m trying to say.  Instead of dwelling on the sadness of their passing, show them your appreciation by exalting in the gifts they not only gave when they were here, but left behind when they passed on, and more, letting them go.  That is certainly my preference when my time comes.

I’m once again reminded of Snoopy’s exuberant happy dance, ears outflung, huge smile on his face, and feet going tappity-tap for the sheer joy of it!

This is how I choose to go through life, attracting, to quote an old song…”sunshine, lollipops and rainbows and everything that’s wonderful..”

I choose to greet every day with a huge, sloppy grin, expectations of wonderfulness and unconditional love which is freely and joyfully expressed at every opportunity.

Don’t get me wrong,  I have my days when I don’t live up to my own expectations, but it isn’t for lack of trying.

Not everyone around me chooses to live joyfully, and there are times when my joy isn’t as strong as the quantity of gloom around me.

This is precisely why I keep encouraging people to find that joyful, childlike person inside of them, and allow her to come out and play more often.  And before you ask, no, you do NOT have to shirk your responsibilities to be joyful.  In fact, your responsibilities are a lot more enjoyable and are accomplished bigger and better with a healthy shot of joy!

The more passion, the more joy, the more pure, unadulterated bliss we pour into our world, the more space we take away from the gloom and doomers.  I want to suck all of the life out of their gloom and doom, leaving no room for the high energy negativity.  I want to smother that puppy until it is unable to survive im our rarified atmosphere of joy, bliss, love and passion.

But I can’t do it alone.   I need the support of my fellow human beings, climbing aboard this passion train where love is the answer, joy begets joy and misery doesn’t get a ticket!

I’ve made a point of posting my gratitudes every night, but maybe I need to inject more of that passion as well.  I’m constantly looking for ways to be an ambassador of joy and to help inject more goodness into the world.  I’m certainly open to suggestions on how to make this happen!  Are there any passionate, joyful people out there who are also looking for ways to make the world a happier place?  Can we work together on this?

My gratitudes tonight are:
1. I am grateful for the love, joy and passion which has become an integral part of my life.
2. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my joys and passions with others, and to, in turn have the honor of them sharing theirs with me.
3. I am grateful for the fact that there truly is a disproportionate amount of joy and goodness in the world.
4. I am grateful for the people who are opening their hearts to teach the rest of us how it’s done.
5. I am grateful for a future of love, joy, passion and compassion.

Love and light.

  1. Thanks Sheri for sharing your gratitudes. Somewhere along the way I forgot to keep up with this wonderful practice. I'll start doing them again along with stating my intentions for the day each morning. Are you a fan of Catherine Ponder – I love her book “The Dynamic Laws Of Prosperity.”

  2. This is great! I always did love Snoopy, and I never considered how positive his attitude generally is. I can't stand being around people who have no joy in their lives. Passion is something that is required in life.

  5. Danny, thank you for the recommendation. I'm not familiar with Ms. Ponder but I'll definitely look for her book! I'm so happy I could give you a little inspiration. A gratitude a day keeps the gloomies away!

  6. Ruth, I find it's all a matter of resonance. Joyless people resonate on a different frequency which is discordant to joyful ones (and vice versa, I might add). As far as I'm concerned, life without passion is…well, death.
